Slain galamseyer family demands body for funeral

Family of illegal miner who was shot dead on Sunday is pleading with government to release their son’s corpse for burial.
The body has been deposited at the Obuasi hospital morgue for investigation following controversy over who shot him.
31-year-old Kwabena Agyemang was hit in a clash between illegal miners and the Vanguard Taskforce on Sunday at Anyimadu in the Ashanti region.
Galamseyers of Anyimadukrom and the military are accusing one another of killing Kwabena Agyeman.
However, his mother, Afia Antwiwaa fears her son’s body would decay if the investigations are not fast tracked.
She is therefore requesting that the body be released to the family for burial
Meanwhile, the Head of the Vanguard Taskforce team and Minister for Environment, Science and Technology has waded into the matter.
He believes the miner was killed but is pleading that proper investigation is done for justice to be served.
